Art Director Lisa Sergi from Brown University called with essay by Maxim Shrayer titled “Writing in Tongues”. It about the struggle to find your voice as a writer in a new country and new language. Maxim grew up in the Soviet Union and had to learn how to use a new language but integrate his past to create his voice as a writer. Water is always a great metaphor for reflection and this image simply caught the idea of being caught between two experiences.
