Smithsonian Magazine: The Whole World

Smithsonian Magazine: Map tech

I love when Smithsonian Magazine calls. They always have smart features and AD Heather Palmateer’s assignment was no exception. It was an essay about how our ability to navigate the world is affected by hi tech maps. While map apps are convenient, our ability to read physical maps or signs have diminished. Mrs Yang and I are still amazed that we used to use physical maps to travel. My idea was taking a Lewis and Clark metaphor and turning it a more universal image about tech and exploring the world.
